Job summary

CES Consultants, Inc. seeks a Mechanical/Electrical Construction Inspector to perform field inspections and construction oversight for process mechanical, electrical, and I&C systems on large water and wastewater projects in the Washington DC area.

The role requires hands-on field presence and coordination with contractors within an active operating facility. You will verify work against approved plans, submittals, and codes, document findings, witness testing and commissioning activities, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or related field OR equivalent field experience.
• 5–10 years of construction inspection experience in process mechanical and/or electrical/I&C systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and technical documents.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of mechanical and electrical installations.
• Verify work is performed in accordance with approved plans, submittals, and codes.
• Monitor contractor activities for schedule, sequencing, and safety requirements.
• Witness testing, startup, and commissioning activities for systems.
• Document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
