Job summary

SGS in Washington state seeks a Field Inspector I to perform inspection of grain and food oil transport systems, loading/unloading processes, and sampling of grains, food oils, and other commodities in accordance with government regulations and standard operating procedures.

The role involves climbing ladders, lifting up to 60 pounds, taking measurements and temperatures, and documenting activities with field forms while adhering to SGS safety policies and ethical conduct.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Required)
• TWIC card (Required)
• Active Driver License (Required)

Responsibilities

• Performs Inspection/sampling of containers and barges at different locations.
• Supervises loading and counts of product (wood pellets) in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Physically measures, weighs, samples, and takes temperatures (where applicable) of a variety of products in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Climbs ladders at heights above 6 feet as required.
• Lifts up to 60 pounds in weight.
• Transports commodity samples from loading terminals to the office and vice versa.
