Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction in Tacoma, WA seeks a Special Inspector to support project sites, performing inspections and testing per approved procedures and codes. The role includes preparing daily field reports and coordinating with on-site contractors to resolve issues.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in special inspection or construction, with ICC Reinforced Concrete and WA license-related credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in the Special Inspection or Construction Industry.
• ICC Reinforced Concrete
• WABO Post-Installed Anchors
• Nuclear Gauge Technician Certification (APNGA or equivalent)
• ICC Soils or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire
• Valid WA Enhanced Driver’s License, Real ID, or Passport; reliable driving record
• Strong report writing, communication, and time management skills
• Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs frequently
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and testing in accordance with approved procedures, codes, and specifications
• Prepare accurate daily field reports including description of work performed.
• Professionally interface with onsite contractors to address issues and solve problems
