Boldyn Networks is hiring a Field Inspector in New York City to support NYCT projects. You will inspect contractor work sites, review drawings, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and design instructions.

You’ll lead the Field Inspection team, coordinate with contractors, and document daily site activities. The role requires 5 years of field inspection experience, comfort with night shifts, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a field inspector.
• Experience with NYCT projects or similar transit projects is preferred.
• Availability to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• OSHA30 or SST Worker Card is required; NYC Track Safety training preferred.
• Fiber testing and splicing certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work for conformance with drawings and specifications.
• Lead and guide the Field Inspection team on site.
• Maintain daily reports, including activities, quantities, quality issues, and cost codes.
• Coordinate with contractors, NYCT, and design engineers to resolve field conflicts.
• Ensure safety requirements are followed and report issues to Safety Manager.

Explore it today.****Field Inspector** NYC, New York**About the role**The Field Inspector is responsible for providing support and conducting inspections and audits on contractor work sites for New York City Transit projects. Monitor nightly/daily construction civil activities to ensure the contractor is compliant with Boldyn construction drawings, engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. Work with contractors and NYCT to empower spontaneous changes (within given guidelines) to maintain the fluidity of the project. Ensure project closure through the Punch list completion and acceptance.**What you’ll be doing**As part of the Operations Organization, you’ll help to ensure our construction sites comply with regulatory standards and quality inspections by performing physical inspections, reviewing project plans, and communicating your findings. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:* Ensure construction work complies with all construction drawings, engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.* Lead, direct, and provide guidance to the Field Inspection team.* Set clear expectations, make informed decisions, convey instructions, and provide feedback to the team.* Maintain daily construction reports, including activities and quantities completed, quality issues, changes daily labor time sheets with cost codes, and red line drawings.* Monitor installation of POE conduit/s and cabling is done as per drawing specifications daily (night shift or day shift).* Assist Construction Managers and Field Supervisor on expediting subcontractors.* Assist subcontractors in the field with any upcoming questions or issues.* Ensure approved drawings and their approved revisions are utilized in the field as issued by the Engineering Manager.* Continually find solutions to conflicts between drawings, field conditions, and specifications by conferring with the Design Engineers. Coordinate these solutions with the various sub-trades.* Report accurate quantities for labor cost reports and accurately monitor material ledgers to determine if quantities remaining in the estimate are sufficient to complete the project in the field.* Coordinate and participate in inspection requests with Quality Manager, various cell phone carriers, and subcontractors as required.* Inspect installation work for conformance with design drawings and specifications.* Approve As-Builts of work completed using maintained red line drawings.* Ensure work is conducted in accordance with Safety requirements and report any issues to the Boldyn Safety Manager* Communicate with on-site NYCT and Subcontractor representatives.* Provide access to Boldyn Networks Base Station Hotels and supervision of subcontractors.* Monitor Fiber splicing, OTDR and Throughput testing by contractors and prepare reports.* Other duties as directed by the Project Manager.* Participate in punch list walkthroughs. Prepare punch list and other checklists as required.* Lead by example, promoting integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior among the Field Inspection team.* Follow MTA and Boldyn incident reporting protocols.* Communicate and coordinate with Boldyn safety team in a timely fashion.**What you’ll bring**Think you could make a difference here?
