Role Description

The Field Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Shreveport, LA, responsible for inspecting utility construction projects to confirm adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting job sites, documenting construction progress, verifying materials and workmanship, and identifying any deviations or potential issues. The role involves collaborating with project managers, field crews, and subcontractors to resolve discrepancies, support quality control efforts, and maintain accurate records and reports. The Field Inspector will also assist with verifying compliance with company procedures, applicable codes, and client expectations, while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings, and to compare them against work performed in the field.
• Experience with on-site inspections, documentation, and reporting, including taking detailed notes, photographs, and measurements.
• Knowledge of utility construction practices, safety regulations, and relevant local, state, and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and communicate issues clearly and objectively.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with field crews, supervisors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Basic proficiency with computers and mobile devices for using inspection apps, email, and standard office software.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to perform site visits that may involve walking, standing, and light physical activity.
• Previous experience in construction, utilities, or field inspection is preferred; relevant certifications or vocational training are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for traveling to and between job sites in the Shreveport, LA area.
