Job summary

Congruex is seeking a Field Inspector to perform field inspections of cable and fiber placement, splicing, and telecom construction on customer job sites. You will manage field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and schedules while delivering quality work with a focus on safety and operational excellence.

You will travel daily to locations, inspect work, document results, and participate in field meetings with personnel, agencies, and contractors.

Qualifications

• OSP/ISP telecom standards knowledge and field construction experience.
• Proficient in documentation, reporting, and use of standard software.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to sites and conduct field inspections.
• Inspect cables, splicing, and installation work by field personnel and contractors.
• Document and report field results and outcomes.
• Attend field meetings with staff, government agencies, and contractors.
• Operate field equipment and tools; manage invoicing and subcontractor work when needed.
• Support safety compliance and operational execution.

Job Summary

As the Field Inspector you will ultimately be responsible for performing field inspections of cable/fiber placement, cable/fiber splicing, and telecommunications construction work on customer job sites. You will manage field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and schedules while delivering quality construction services. As the Field Inspector, your customers are field personnel and/or contractors/sub-contractors, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through leadership, safety compliance, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel (daily) to assigned locations and conduct site inspections.
• Inspect telecommunication cables and the work of field personnel and/or contractors/sub-contractors.
• Documentation and reporting of field results.
• Attend field meetings with field personnel as well as government agencies and construction contractors.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and tools such as laptop, iPad, height stick, camera, personal protective equipment (PPE), etc.
• May perform invoicing and manage work orders for subcontractor work.
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• OSHA 30

Experience

• Extensive knowledge of and experience with OSP and ISP telecommunications engineering standards, construction techniques, and blueprints.

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in a confined space and at high elevations (poles, hydraulic lift buckets, ladders
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, holidays, and on call as needed
• Ability to apply logical and mathematical principles and thinking to solve problems and make decisions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth
• Ability to edit documents and upload files into proprietary software

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand / walk / bend / climb / work in an office for extended periods
• Work performed outdoors / in all weather conditions / in confined spaces / at heights / in live traffic zones
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
