Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks three Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Inspection Team in Ridgeland, SC and observe, document, and verify the quality of infrastructure projects in the field to ensure compliance with plans and standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 3 years of field experience, and the ability to read construction documents. Travel may be required; you will work closely with project teams and clients in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of related construction observation experience
• SCDOT certification in asphalt and earthwork preferred
• Knowledge of construction techniques; ability to read construction documents
• Valid driver's license; travel may be extensive

Responsibilities

• Observe and document construction activities for compliance with plans, specs, and submittals
• Verify quality through field measurements and monitoring of contractor QC efforts
• Identify nonconforming work and support corrective actions to achieve acceptability
• Review contractor payment applications, change orders, and quantities for progress payments
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, and project teams and maintain reports and records
