Field Industrial Painter/Sandblaster - Traveling

Join us for the Field Industrial Painter/Sandblaster - Traveling role at Maguire.

Job Overview

Since over 100 years, Maguire has led in fabricating, constructing, and maintaining water storage tanks and towers. The Industrial Painter - Novice will support the crew foreman and team by organizing ground operations during water tower projects. Responsibilities include rigging, operating blast pots and paint pumps, inspecting safety gear, and assisting with surface preparation and painting tasks. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Functions

• Maintain 100% tie-off safety protocol when on water towers.
• Unload and set up equipment and rigging.
• Assist with rigging, scaffolding, and equipment setup.
• Operate blast pots and paint pumps.
• Prepare surfaces through pressure washing and light sandblasting.
• Inspect and document safety equipment daily.
• Check rigging and secure attachment points daily.
• Complete personal timecards accurately.
• Operate and fuel compressors and welders.
• Assist in surface inspection and measurement.
• Load and secure equipment after job completion.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on-site.
• Communicate effectively with the foreman regarding tasks and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Responsibility and accountability for actions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• At least three years of sandblasting and painting experience.
• One to two years of safety-related experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity and stability for precision tasks.
• Visual acuity for detailed work.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physical ability to climb, balance, walk, and carry materials, including heights up to 200 feet.
