SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Field Implementation Analyst with an emphasis in Anatomic Pathology (AP) at Orchard Software, you will work directly with laboratory clients to deliver full-cycle implementation support for our Laboratory Information System (LIS) software applications.

This role is ideal for experienced professionals from anatomic pathology labs who are ready to leverage their domain expertise in a technology-forward role. Using a template database, you will collaborate with clients to tailor the system to support their unique workflows—especially within anatomic pathology settings—and play a critical role during system go-lives.

Project Planning

  • Attend all planning meeting calls to understand client requirements.
  • Review of all documentation as provided in project management software.
  • Attend scoping visits/calls as required.

60%

System Implementation

  • This would require remote and/or on-site assistance with the following:
    • Instrument interfacing
    • Database refinement
    • Database verification
    • End-user training
    • Ancillary hardware installation
  • Assist the client through the go-live phase with the new system.

20%

Documentation and Training

  • Completion and documentation of all assigned tasks in project management tool.
  • Documentation of professional service hours to each project in project management tool.
  • Development and documentation of job aids for internal and external utilization, as needed.
  • Keep current with position and product specific training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Medical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, Cytotechnology, or other pathology-related fields plus 2+ years of experience in anatomic pathology.
  • 5+ years of experience in a anatomic pathology lab, including LIS support.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior implementation or support of healthcare information systems (LIS experience strongly preferred)
  • Previous use, administration or implementation of Orchard Software products
  • Experience with laboratory instruments, interface configuration, or middleware systems
  • Previous lab management or supervisory experience

Certifications (a plus):

  • HT(ASCP), CT(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or similar

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep understanding of anatomic pathology workflows
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent teaching, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Domestic and occasional international travel required (up to 60%)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to rent vehicles
  • Remote work when not traveling

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range: $65,000 - $75,000. Additional compensation may be commensurate with education and experience.
