Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a seasoned HVAC/refrigeration technician to service our store network in Texas. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair system failures, and manage parts inventory while adhering to safety and company policies.

You will travel to assigned stores daily, document repairs, and communicate with store personnel to ensure reliable operations. EPA Type 2 certification and a valid driver's license are required; nights and overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 35 years proven refrigeration/HVAC experience and satisfactory overall performance
• EPA Type 2 Certification is required
• Valid driver's license and ability to work a flexible schedule (nights/weekends/overtime)
• Experience reading engineering drawings, manuals and schematics
• Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Drive independently to stores on a daily basis.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Perform repairs to HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Navigate and investigate electronic controls interfaces.
• Assist with and perform preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair equipment.
• Perform compressor, large motor and component replacement.
• Maintain accurate inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment and powered lifts safely.
• Communicate with store personnel about proper equipment use.
• Document repair, labor, and parts usage promptly.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Assist other skilled trade technicians as needed.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing ladders, bending and temperatures.
