Job summary

The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking candidates for a field-based mechanical craft role in Edgecomb, ME. You will maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and perform skilled technical tasks in testing and installing parts in on-road or field garage settings.

Qualified applicants should have at least four years of related experience, plus two years on heavy equipment and one year of independent work.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in maintenance, repair, and/or rebuild of automotive/construction equipment.
• Two years on heavy vehicle and construction equipment.
• One year independently performing related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy vehicle, automotive, and construction equipment within a region.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and evaluate overall condition.
• Perform testing, installing, repairing, rewiring, replacing, and fabricating parts as needed.

CDL with air endorsements & A&D inspection licenses
