Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, seeks an experienced heavy equipment/diesel mechanic to repair and maintain construction equipment across projects in the Houston area. The role requires diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and engine issues and performing preventative maintenance.

The candidate will work outdoors, read technical manuals, and operate cranes and trucks while prioritizing safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic, preferably in the field.
Must have own hand tools.
Be able to work with high level of physical activity performing strenuous activities.
Have manual dexterity sufficient to use tools and work with the fingers.

Responsibilities

Operate a truck and drive to projects to perform maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, track hoes, and related heavy highway construction equipment.
Diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
Weld equipment for repairs.
Operate crane for maintenance and repair work.
Read, understand, and fill out service-related documents and paperwork in a timely manner.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure maintenance activities are performed timely.
