Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician for Dakota Prairie Composting. You will diagnose and repair diesel trucks, construction equipment, power generation, and hydraulics across multiple Minnesota sites, often traveling up to 75% with a company truck provided.

You’ll apply strong mechanical skills and safe, first-rate service in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year technical degree or high school diploma with 2+ years of mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience in a shop with manufacture training and field experience operating a service truck.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose without supervision.
• Ability to travel up to 75% and work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair a fleet of composting equipment and related hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Provide timely service, travel between Minnesota sites, and support other technicians.
• Maintain safety compliance and clean work area; keep service vehicle in good condition.
• Assist other technicians with troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
