Job Summary

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

1. Repair equipment and components by:

• Developing a repair plan and sequence
• Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performing repairs safely and correctly, including quality assurance testing of components, systems, and machines

• Complete all reports accurately and promptly for parts ordering, tooling, daily service, and work completion
• Communicate repair progress to supervisor as required
• Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts system
• Handle special tools and maintain their proper use, including major shop equipment like air compressors, tanks, cranes, etc.
• Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
• Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, efficient, and updated manner
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Education, Experience, and Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use their hands for handling and feeling objects. Reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing are also required. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

The role involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
