Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Health & Safety Professional 1 to oversee safety on client project sites across the United States. You will enforce the PGL safety policy, coordinate site safety plans, and lead safety orientation and training for personnel.

Role requires collaboration with construction leads, documentation of incidents, and routine safety reporting. Travel is 100% to project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Understanding of federal, state, local health and safety regulations and how to apply them.
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills for collaboration with site teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of safety information.
• Willingness to travel 100% as required by projects.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall health and safety direction on assigned project sites.
• Manages daily safety programs at construction sites (policy manual, training, JSA).
• Documents accidents, incidents, near misses and issues reports.
• Conducts root-cause investigations and recommends corrective actions.
• Executes follow-up investigations to verify effectiveness.
• Develops and delivers site safety training and plans.
