Job summary

Certerra Subsurface Imaging in Irvine, CA is seeking a Geophysical Wireline Logging Engineer/Technician for a predominantly field-based role. You’ll prepare equipment, perform QC, and support project logging from survey to reporting under supervision.

Travel up to 70% regionally and internationally is required; candidate will assist with data processing and reporting while maintaining equipment and safety standards in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or Earth Science with 1–4 years fieldwork OR a Master’s in Geophysics with minimal fieldwork.
• Inclined to working with electronic survey equipment and electro-mechanical tools to acquire data.
• Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
• Organized and able to work independently or in a team; strong communication.
• Willing to travel up to 70% and work outdoors in remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare geophysical wireline logging equipment and vehicles for mobilization to Client sites.
• Conduct QC tests on all equipment prior to mobilization to ensure conformance.
• Vehicle and equipment transport to and from field projects.
• Undertake site inductions/training and comply with site-specific H&S requirements.
• Rig-up/rig-down geophysical wireline logging equipment safely over borehole.
• Operate equipment as required, adhering to client specifications and performing QC checks on data.
• Other field support as directed by project lead.
• Field projects range from two days to two months and require extensive travel.
• Assist with the processing, analysis and reporting of data and producing reports to Client specifications.
• Organization and maintenance of field equipment in accordance with Company procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
