Job summary

ERM in Houston (and New Orleans) seeks a Consulting Senior Associate, Geology/Scientist/Engineer to perform field sampling, drilling oversight, and environmental data interpretation. This role supports regulatory compliance and land redevelopment across Texas and the Gulf region.

You will gain hands-on field experience, work with ERM experts, and contribute to projects that protect communities and the environment, with up to 50% regional travel and a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of field-based environmental work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Driver's license is required and travel to client locations will occur.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field activities including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling.
• Oversee drilling operations, soil borings, monitoring well installation, development, purging, and sampling.
• Perform aquifer testing, soil logging, and construction oversight.
• Coordinate subcontractors for drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
• Support environmental remediation projects, including system operations and maintenance.
• Compile, evaluate, and interpret environmental media data.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and technical exhibits.
• Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for property transactions.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors, regulators, tenants, and clients during field activities.
• Deliver work in alignment with budgets, schedules, and quality expectations.
• Travel regionally up to 50% as needed.
