Job summary

RRC Power and Energy seeks a Field Geologist II for our Round Rock, TX office. This full‑time role involves fieldwork, geotechnical subsurface investigations, and geophysical surveys across the United States.

The candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics and be willing to travel extensively. Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills are expected, with relocation to Round Rock preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics preferred; high school diploma required.
• Willingness to travel 95–100% across the United States.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Outdoor/field work experience and driving conditions preferred.
• Ability to lead or be part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigations and geophysical surveys.
• Conduct geophysical surveys such as seismic and electrical resistivity surveys.
• Observe and document geotechnical construction activities and perform material testing/inspection.
• Perform other engineering activities as required.
