Job summary

North Wind Site Services in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Geologist/Environmental Scientist to conduct field investigations and collect samples to assess contamination and remediation needs. The role involves data analysis of soil, air, and water media, and requires travel with occasional overnight stays.

The position supports environmental restoration, regulatory compliance, and project execution while utilizing geology, biology, and engineering principles in the field.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or related field.
• Hands-on environmental field work experience for site characterization/remediation.
• Knowledge of media (soil vapor, groundwater), contaminants, and SOPs for investigation/remedial actions.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and samples per procedures.
• Document soil/air/water samples to determine contaminant presence and quantity.
• Prepare samples for testing and log daily activities.
• Operate field drilling tools like hand auger and specialized rigs.
• Oversee Direct Push Technology, Hollow Stem Auger, and Roto-Sonic drilling oversight.
• Data management and documentation in office.
• Support field teams to ensure project success.
