Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Fusion Technician to install and fuse HDPE piping at project sites in Illinois. You will operate fusion equipment, perform pipe prep and joining, inspect joints, and ensure project deadlines are met while upholding safety standards.

The role requires strong equipment operation skills, time management, and reliable driving abilities; on-site work with potential hazardous environments and heavy machinery is expected.

Qualifications

• Operates hand and foot levers to control equipment.
• Knowledge of safely operating assigned equipment.
• Manages time effectively, anticipates obstacles, and communicates progress.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain fusion equipment to fuse pipes.
• Perform pipe preparation, welding, and joining tasks in compliance with processes and specifications.
• Inspect and verify fused joints to ensure integrity, quality, and adherence to project requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines on-site.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory standards while working in hazardous or confined environments.
• Document fusion activities, including measurements, quality checks, and other project-related records.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fusion equipment and replace defective parts.
• Operate off road trucks on side slopes.
• Measure materials or objects for installation.
• Install well heads and valves.
• Drive company pickup truck.
