Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts seeks a Foreperson to coordinate crew members, equipment, and supplies to complete tree care projects per contract. The role requires directing daily activities, planning safe workflows, and communicating with property owners for access and permissions.

The position emphasizes PPE compliance, field adaptability, and the ability to supervise tasks while maintaining efficiency. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Must be able to follow verbal or written directives.
• Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Must be able to understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
• Must have endurance necessary to perform duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day.
• Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crew, equipment, tools, and supplies to complete jobs per contract specs.
• Direct crew members and manage equipment daily.
• Assign tasks and supervise performance.
• Plan and execute work safely and professionally.
• Organize job assignments for efficiency.
• Notify property owners and obtain access permissions; discuss work details with customers.
• Ensure PPE usage and safety compliance on site.
• Trim/remove trees using ladders, lift trucks, or ground methods; handle pruning equipment safely.
• Spray stumps/brush to prevent regrowth.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, debris, and brush; feed to chipper as needed.
• Keep time/usage records and restock supplies.
• Conduct daily truck inspections and briefings.
• Maintain equipment and report damages to Foreperson.
• Prepare for storm work as required.
