Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural steel, metal fabrication, welding coordination, or related industrial metal work.
• Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role within structural steel, metal fabrication, or industrial construction.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a crew in the field.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel installation, fabrication fit-up, and welding processes.
• OSHA safety standards and fall protection knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise metal crew on daily job site activities and ensure safe, efficient work.
• Direct structural steel installation, fabrication fit-up, welding coordination, and field modifications.
• Ensure all metal work complies with OSHA, policies, and client specs.
• Conduct daily job site hazard assessments and enforce safety practices.
• Lead toolbox talks and communicate safety expectations to crew members.
• Coordinate manpower, tools, and materials for scaffold work.
• Inspect installations, welds, and fit ups for quality and compliance.
• Report daily progress and site issues to leadership.
• Mentor helpers and less experienced workers in metal work and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
