Job summary

Mid-Ohio Air Conditioning (MOAC) of Columbus, OH seeks an Assistant Project Manager to own operational execution of assigned projects, from start-up through closeout. This hands-on role coordinates manpower, equipment, schedules, and change orders under a Project Manager’s direction.

On-the-job development targets include full P&L ownership of small projects within 12 months and progression to Project Manager within 18–36 months, with continuous improvement participation across the division.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or related field or equivalent field experience in mechanical construction.
• Two or more years of experience in commercial construction in a project engineer, assistant project manager, estimator, coordinator, or field leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational execution of assigned projects under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate MOAC scope with GC milestones and owner-driven constraints.
• Coordinate manpower requirements with Operations and field leadership; forecast crew size and duration by phase.
• Visit jobsites regularly to verify installed work against drawings and monitor productivity.
• Lead or attend jobsite coordination meetings; represent MOAC professionally.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts and constructability issues before they impact schedule or cost.
• Drive safety and ensure crews have required equipment and site orientations.
• Prepare monthly cost-to-complete projections and percent-complete inputs in ERP software; track variances and corrective actions.
