Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. This role involves certifying fiber links with OTDR, troubleshooting impairments, and performing fusion or mechanical splicing as needed.

You will work in various environments, maintain professionalism with clients, handle documentation of test results, and be available for service work within your coverage territory.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience, and one certification OR 5+ years verifiable field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic and technical tasks including fusion/splicing, OTDR testing, and fault distance identification.
• Install, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work across environments such as retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecoms, and data centers.
• Troubleshoot customer-premise and network impairments and replace damaged jumpers.
