Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support a growing national client base. You will perform fusion/mechanical splicing, OTDR testing, certification, and fault identification in diverse environments nationwide.

Requirements include fiber testing/troubleshooting experience, OTDR/power meter familiarity, and knowledge of single‑/multi‑mode systems. A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are needed for travel.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources and certification equipment.
• Understanding of single‑mode and multi‑mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience, and one of the listed certifications or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including fiber splicing using fusion and mechanical methods.
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch‑cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single‑mode and multi‑mode cabling.
• Identify and troubleshoot customer‑premise and network‑side impairments.
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across environments like retail, medical, corporate, data centers.
