Job summary

TAK Broadband, LLC in Fairfield, CA, is seeking a Construction Technician to install, splice, and maintain fiber, coax, and copper cables for telecom infrastructure projects. You will perform trenching, conduit placement, fiber blowing, and support aerial/underground crews while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in underground construction, hands-on experience with RF and fiber networks, and the ability to read maps and schematics.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of underground construction experience.
• Practical overhead construction experience for RF and Fiber.
• Extensive knowledge of RF and Fiber network design and BOM.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, schematics and project docs.
• Knowledge of city/county/state clearance codes.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Commitment to safety procedures and NESC guidelines.
• Pre-employment requirements including MVR, background check, drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform trenching, site prep, conduit placement, and general construction support with hand tools.
• Assist with fiber installation activities such as blowing, pulling, and relocating RF/fiber services; construct/repair underground lines.
• Support aerial and underground crews; troubleshoot RF and fiber issues.
• Operate vehicles, trailers, and equipment as certified; assist with reel trailers, line trucks, bucket trucks, saws, drills.
• Move materials, clean job sites, and perform routine maintenance as directed.
• Read maps and schematics; learn inventory and materials for each build.
• Follow safety procedures, observe NESC guidelines, maintain a safe work environment.
