IQ Fiber is seeking a Fiber Splicer in Jacksonville, FL to install, splice, test and repair our fiber optic network. This role is about 90% field-based, with significant time on customer premises and potential on-call for outages.

You will splice drops, maintain OSP fiber end-to-end, and use OTDR, PON meters, volt/ohm meters, and toners to certify services. Local candidates with 3–5 years of telecom experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of telecommunications experience required.
• Proficiency with OTDR, PON meters, volt/ohm meters, and toners.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR; ability to work nights and adverse weather.

Responsabilités

• Splice fiber drops and pigtails; repair underground drops and splice from vault to NID as needed.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot OSP distribution fiber end-to-end; service cabinets and NIDs.
• Place fiber inside customer premises from single-family homes to MDUs with precision.
• Use OTDR, PON meters, volt/ohm meters, toners and other tools to test, certify, and validate services.
• Respond to outages, stay on-call, and support emergency responses 24/7/365.
• Perform contractor QA checks and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle; comply with OSHA and company policies.
