Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) seeks skilled telecom line workers for outdoor, remote-site projects. Work includes pole work, cable installation, and emergency response in varied weather conditions. Candidates must have a Class A CDL and be able to lift heavy equipment.

Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors, reading detailed specs, and maintaining accurate daily reports. Safety and compliance are emphasized across all tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Extensive knowledge of approved practices, procedures, tools, and materials used in telecom line construction work.
• Identify differences in wire and cable colors.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy equipment up to 75 lbs and climb structures.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at high elevations.
• Ability to apply math calculations for drilling and pole sizing.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains major cable systems and structures per work orders and drawings.
• Dig holes, climb poles, place and remove poles, and lay cable/conduit.
• Operate power equipment on trucks and use test equipment for gas detection.
• Respond to outages and emergencies requiring heavy construction capabilities.
• Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation.
• Ensure safety of customers and the public and comply with regulations.
