Job summary

AutoZone is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support preventative maintenance across assigned AutoZone retail locations in Virginia. You will perform building and equipment repairs, troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues, and coordinate with vendors for store maintenance projects.

The role requires travel, a valid driver’s license, and adherence to safety policies. Previous maintenance experience and HVAC knowledge are a plus; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Trade or Technical School courses preferred but not required
• 1-2 years previous Maintenance experience or equivalent education (additional experience and/or education a plus)
• HVAC certifications preferred but not required
• Electrical, plumbing, and general construction skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet AutoZone's driving requirements
• 21 years or older

Responsibilities

• Provides high level of customer service
• Adheres to AutoZone dress code
• Ability to travel overnight frequently
• Maintains a safe driving and working environment, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Performs routine store visits to identify and perform building and ground repair work.
• Performs preventive building maintenance duties on retail AutoZone stores in a geographical area
• Performs routine and general repair maintenance, as well as, troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or maintenance
• Grades and reports stores physical conditions and appearance via electronic media
• Creates, manages and monitors necessary work for all assigned stores in Work Order Management System
• Assists with identifying vendors in support of stores
• Performs diagnostics on Energy Management System
• Properly maintains vehicle(s) and takes the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance
• Ability to work all the hours (of operation) that we are open for business
• Follow all company policies, procedures and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
