Job description

Position Title: Field Examiner
Location: Fully Remote
Compensation: $110K-$130K + up to $20K Bonus
Travel: Approximately 15%-20%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site engagements to examine financial and operational records, focusing on collateral assets such as accounts receivable, inventory, and other secured assets.
  • Review and analyze financial data, including accounts payable, tax filings, insurance records, cash flow, and financial statements, to assess collateral adequacy and identify potential risks.
  • Perform detailed testing procedures to validate financial data and ensure compliance with established agreements.
  • Evaluate accounting system controls and data integrity to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure that collateral reporting and management align with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing audit findings, identifying areas of risk, and making actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial auditing standards and develop professionally through ongoing education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, public accounting, or banking.
  • Strong background in asset-backed finance or secured lending.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word; familiarity with PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, balance sheets, and GAAP principles is helpful.
