Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking a Field Equipment Repairman to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic tools and equipment used on heavy projects.

You will diagnose issues and ensure tools are safe, reliable, and ready for use in the field or shop. The role demands hands-on expertise, the ability to stock parts, communicate with vendors, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent required.
5 years related repair experience in pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical tools.
Two years of coursework may substitute for two years of exp.

Responsibilities

Repair and preventative maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic tools and equipment.
Repair and rebuild 2- and 4-cycle engines.
Troubleshoot and repair tools (grinders, roto-hammers, mag-drills, etc.).
Order and stock tool parts and equipment.
Organize and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Communicate with vendors to ensure proper parts and invoicing.
Maintain department paperwork and records.
Outsource repairs as needed and track documents.
Interface with coworkers and management for cost-effective work.
