Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Road Technician to service and repair material handling and aerial equipment at customer sites, ensuring operation per manufacturer specifications. You will diagnose, repair, perform maintenance, and document work while traveling to client locations and adhering to safety guidelines.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in forklift repair, and strong mechanical aptitude. Valid driver’s license and ability to read precision instruments are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in forklift repair or related industry.
• Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment, including propane, gas, diesel engines, hydraulics, brake, steering, electrical systems and more.
• Rebuild and repair components in material handling and aerial equipment.
• Block, chock and chain equipment and disassemble as needed for major repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs to spec.
• Troubleshoot diagnostics and perform failure analysis.
• Inspect equipment to identify safety concerns.
• Perform basic welding as necessary.
• Record maintenance and repair work and complete paperwork promptly.
• Maintain parts and supplies for job completion.
• Attend training and keep company vehicle clean and ready.
• Travel to customer sites and be on-call as needed.
