Job summary

ERRG is hiring an Environmental Field Technician to collect soil, groundwater, and air samples while ensuring health and safety compliance. You will communicate with client representatives during field activities and help maintain accurate field documentation.

The role involves travel across California, operating an on-site mobile laboratory, calibrating field meters (including XRF), and adhering to safety and quality standards. Overtime may apply under CA labor law.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related work experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refreshers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Office Suite
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Stand/walk 8+ hours/day
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Responsibilities

• Collect environmental samples (soil, groundwater, air).
• Attend and/or lead health and safety tailgate meetings.
• Detail-oriented field paperwork and submittals.
• Operate a mobile onsite laboratory.
• Calibrate and operate field meters (e.g., XRF) and record results.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and ERRG project manager.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and project policies.
