Job summary

AECOM has an opening for an Environmental Engineering Technician at our Amarillo, TX site. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good interpersonal communication skills.

The position involves fieldwork, sampling of soil and groundwater, operating standard testing equipment, and maintaining documentation. Candidates should be able to travel to client sites and pass background and drug screenings; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related experience.
• Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive and require periodic post-employment background checks.
• Ability to pass a client-mandated drug test.
• To receive a security badge you must pass client background, medical and drug screening; done after employment begins.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record; travel to client sites with AECOM vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.
• Sets up and operates standard testing equipment of moderate complexity.
• Performs fieldwork including environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
• Operates heavy equipment, including a tractor and attachments.
• Maintains project documentation and assists with calculations and equipment setup.
