Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Technician to join the Environment Business Line in Deepwater, NJ. This early-career role offers hands‑on experience with environmental investigation, sampling, and remediation while supporting a major chemical client and other regional projects.

You will work outdoors with field technicians, geologists, scientists, and engineers, gaining practical skills and professional growth in environmental consulting and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass State and Federal background checks.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass 40-hour OSHA training (HAZWOPER).
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine environmental field activities including groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water sampling.
• Support investigation, monitoring, and remediation projects for industrial and commercial clients.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field equipment and vehicles.
• Collect, label, preserve, and document samples per procedures and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate field notes, logs, and photo/documentation for project records.
• Travel to project locations in Southern New Jersey and surrounding region as needed.
