Job summary

WSP in the U.S. seeks an entry-level environmental science professional to assist in collecting and compiling observational, spatial, and environmental data across groundwater, geology, water supply, and pollution control projects.

You will participate in field surveys, sample collection, and documentation using digital systems, while upholding safety policies and industry standards. Travel may be required for project sites and field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Geology, Engineering, or related life sciences field.
• Analytical skills and familiarity with research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species/discipline.
• Familiar with environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys collecting observational, spatial, and environmental data under general supervision.
• Collect and compile samples of air, soil, water, and other matrices for analysis.
• Maintain quality control standards for accurate measurement and documentation.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on environmental issues and verify site characteristics.
• Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site-specific procedures, including data and sample handling.
