Fermi Inc seeks an Environmental Manager to lead all field environmental compliance for the Matador power plant construction site in the Texas Panhandle. You will direct the day‑to‑day program, supervise field coordinators, and ensure permit conditions are met while supporting construction objectives.

The role requires 10+ years in environmental compliance with 5+ years in leadership, deep regulatory knowledge, and strong communication across crafts to executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of environmental compliance experience with 5+ years in leadership on large industrial projects.
  • Deep knowledge of CWA, CAA, RCRA, SWPPP/SPCC and Texas regulations.
  • Experience leading field teams and managing permit conditions on construction sites.
  • Excellent communication skills for multi-level collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve the on-site environmental program, aligned with permits and standards.
  • Supervise field Environmental Coordinators and ensure consistent compliance oversight.
  • Manage permit compliance, stormwater/SWPPP, waste, spill prevention, and reporting.
  • Lead investigations of incidents and ensure timely agency notifications.
  • Interface with regulators and oversee contractor environmental performance.
