Job summary

National Association of State Departments of Agriculture is seeking a part-time Field Enumerator to interview farmers and agricultural businesses in person or by phone. You will travel to designated fields for crop counts, maintaining detailed records of interviews, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.

A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to interview in person or by telephone with farm operators and others.
• Knowledge of computers or iPads.
• Must maintain a reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Interview farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses in person or by phone.
• Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts as needed.
• Maintain and deliver detailed records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
• Work from a residence with a personal vehicle and be ready to travel to perform duties.
