Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Marquette, MI is seeking motivated individuals to perform engineering technician duties, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and public works personnel on infrastructure projects.

You will describe and classify soil samples, collect field and lab tests on soils and concrete, and report daily progress to the field supervisor. Travel to project sites, including overnight stays, is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; AS in Engineering Technology preferred.
• BS in Civil/Geotechnical/Geology Engineering pursued or anticipated is a plus.
• Experience in construction inspection and testing with soils, concrete, and bituminous paving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and documentation with engineers and contractors.
• Conduct materials testing and data collection for infrastructure projects.
• Describe and classify soil samples and perform field/lab tests on soils and concrete.
• Report progress and issues to field supervisor; travel to project sites including overnight stays.
