Field Engineering Specialist Test Representative

About the Role: Our client is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist Test Representative to support developmental and operational testing of advanced military vehicle platforms. This position serves as a key liaison between engineering teams, military personnel, and test organizations, providing hands‑on troubleshooting, vehicle support, and technical expertise to ensure mission success during testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Support Contractor, Developmental Test (DT), and Operational Test (OT) activities for military vehicle platforms.
- Perform vehicle‑level troubleshooting of hardware and software issues to maximize vehicle availability during testing.
- Utilize technical documentation including technical manuals, IETMs, engineering drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and configuration management data to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Coordinate directly with engineering teams including Reliability, Safety, Systems, and Subsystem Engineering to resolve complex technical problems.
- Install modifications, engineering change orders (ECOs), and support hardware integration activities.
- Generate daily Engineering Logs, Field Problem Reports, and Universal Incident Reports (UIRs).
- Conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations on hardware and software issues.
- Guide and direct mechanics, operators, test personnel, soldiers, and support staff during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support and training to fielding teams and government personnel.
- Support testing activities at government test facilities including Aberdeen Proving Ground and other U.S. Test sites.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout all phases of testing.
- Travel approximately 30‑50% in support of testing and field activities.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of experience operating and/or maintaining military wheeled or tracked vehicles.
- Experience supporting U.S. Government Developmental Testing (DT), Operational Testing (OT), or a combination of military and test experience.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with military vehicle systems.
- Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, software, automotive, and fire control systems.
- Ability to diagnose systemic vehicle performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Experience writing technical reports, engineering logs, and incident reports.
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and engineering tools such as Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, iads, EMSNG, or similar systems.
- Ability to work independently and lead others with limited supervision.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must meet Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR).
Clearance Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance or NACI required.
- Must be eligible to maintain access to U.S. Government and military facilities.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
