Let’s Talk about the Role
You will start by enrolling in FieldCore’s Field Engineering Program (FEP). During the FEP, you will develop technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills through in-person and online training, as well as on-the-job learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors.
This program offers hands-on experience and career growth opportunities while traveling globally and providing power to communities. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position focused on Controls.
Role Responsibilities
As a Technical Field Advisor for Controls, you will manage control activities on site during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heavy-duty turbines and equipment. Your responsibilities include reviewing engineering documents, troubleshooting, planning, and coordinating resources to complete work according to contractual standards.
How You Will Make a Difference
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset aligning with GE safety standards
  • Manage controls activities during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment and controls systems (e.g., MKVIe, MKVI, MKV)
  • Interpret piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
  • Provide timely and accurate reports
  • Offer expert consultation on complex projects
  • Support customers with technical guidance on OEM packaged products
Special Role Requirements
  • Willing to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends
  • Able to spend significant time away from home for training and field assignments
Skills for Success
Fluency in English and strong technical skills are required. Additional desired qualities include:

  • Effective communication skills with customers and team members
Formal education with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred, but relevant experience and achievements are highly valued.
