Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Baton Rouge, LA area. You will support the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman by completing field tasks on a current project in Jackson, MS.

Responsibilities include assisting with structure layout, field PO management, and engineering duties for construction planning. You will maintain logs, schedules, RFIs, shop drawings, and as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
