Job summary

General Excavating is seeking a highly motivated Construction Field Engineer to assist and monitor field operations, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure project success.

The role involves overseeing on-site activities, coordination of procurement, safety, and documentation, with opportunities to work across Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming; Lincoln, Nebraska based with 25% travel and home on weekends.

Qualifications

• One year minimum related experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to read instructions, plans, and specs.
• Ability to present information to customers, clients and employees.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction procedures with project start to finish.
• Assess staffing and equipment needs for each phase of construction.
• Assist with procurement of materials, tools, and rental equipment.
• Coordinate project deliveries and inspections.
• Coordinate with on-site personnel to plan work procedures and schedules.
• Resolve issues with owners, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and suppliers to improve methods.
• Inspect work in progress for quality, safety and conformance with plans.
