Job summary

Holder Construction seeks a Field Engineer Technician for its Operations team on a LaGrange, GA project. This full-time role focuses on survey layout and project control to support construction activities.

You will operate surveying instruments, read drawings, and verify layouts to match contract drawings and specifications. Strong math, communication, and reliability are essential for success on site.

Qualifications

• Must have prior construction layout experience.
• Experience operating total stations and automatic levels.
• Working knowledge of common field tools (tape measures, levels, rulers).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Ability to convert inches to decimal feet accurately.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work overtime/weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operate total stations, automatic levels, and other surveying equipment to support construction layout.
• Establish and maintain vertical and horizontal project control.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• Provide and verify layout to conform with drawings and project specs, including foundations and embeds.

About the Role

We are looking for a Field Engineer Technician to join our Operations team o n our project in LaGrange, GA. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate total stations, automatic levels, and other surveying equipment to support construction layout.
• Establish and maintain vertical and horizontal project control.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• Provide and verify accurate layout to conform with contract drawings and project specifications, including foundations, anchor bolts, embeds, slabs, walls, and other critical items.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must havepreviousconstruction layout experience.
• Experience operating total stations, automatic levels.
• Working knowledge of common field tools, including tape measures, hammers, torpedo levels, stick rulers, framing squares, and 2-foot or 4-foot levels.
• Working knowledge of construction layout principles, surveying calculations, and field measurements.
• Ability to calculate concrete quantities for footings, elevated slabs, round columns, and similar work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to convert inches to decimal feet and decimal feet to inches accurately.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
• Ability to write clean and legible survey notes.
• Basic math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Must have reliable means of transportation.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
• Demonstrates reliability and strong work ethic.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours
