Job summary

Astronomer is looking for a Field Engineer to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will implement our software and services, guiding major clients in their Apache Airflow journeys to ensure business growth.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Kubernetes, programming, and customer interactions, all while working hands-on with complex technical solutions.

This position is essential for connecting our customers with the right technical solutions that drive their success with Astronomer's platform.

Qualifications

• Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred).
• Expertise in at least one programming language.
• Good understanding of network complexities and architectures.
• Versatile Terminal and CLI user; this will be a hands-on role, frequently without access to a GUI.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure operating at scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling.
• Ability to read code.
• Strong customer facing skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement Astronomer’s software and services in the core of some of the world’s largest businesses.
• Guide our largest and most complex customers in their Apache Airflow journeys.
• Act as the core interface between the Customer, Sales, and Product.
