Job summary

StructureCare is hiring a Field Engineering Technician to support our structural inspection process. You will work with the engineering team to collect deterioration and defect data in the field using tablets and 360 video walks to document conditions for review.

This role also supports operations when not inspecting, performing leak surveys, safety audits, non-destructive testing, and assisting with project management and reporting.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of building construction experience.
• Familiarization with structural components and field construction.
• Proficiency with tablets and smartphones to capture photos.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to job sites within ~3 hours of home base.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of structures, capturing photos, videos, and data.
• Use tablets and 360 cameras to record observations.
• Perform chloride ion sampling.
• Carry out non-destructive testing such as acoustic sounding.
• Create field drawings with engineering staff.
• Communicate with engineering staff during inspections.
• Assist in preliminary reports with PPS.
• Support service/repair project management with site visits.
• Conduct leak surveys and safety audits.
• Collect field quantities for proposals.
