Job summary

ICS, a Legence Company, is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to gain hands-on site experience under a Project Manager and Superintendent. You will assist with the project schedule, on-site coordination, safety, and communications, supporting the team to deliver value-added projects on time and on budget.

You will learn quality control, submittals, building design, and how to work with architects, owners, and facility staff, while developing professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in successfully maintaining project schedule.
• Coordinate on-site project team, contractors, vendors, schedule, owner correspondence, client-relations, drawing management, approvals, materials, and deliveries.
• Ensure and maintain culture of safety on project site.
• Ensure necessary permits are obtained from corresponding agencies.
• Work with owner and facility staff to understand construction process, progress, timelines, schedule, and budget.
• Follow internal processes, policies, and delivery methods for construction projects.
• Communicate effectively with internal team including site superintendent, project director, and project coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

This position will gain hands-on site experience and mentorship from a Project Manager and Superintendent. The position will complete all assigned tasks to help ensure projects are successful. They will work with the internal team by following standards, practices, and schedules that result in value-added projects being on-time, on budget and ultimately forming lasting relationships with our customers. The Field Engineer Intern will gain knowledge of quality control, scheduling, policies and safety, project submittals, effective communication, on-site construction and building design, and much more through working with an internal team, architects, owners, clients, facility staff, and others involved in the construction process. The intern will complete other duties and responsibilities assigned to assist the project team and ensure a successful project completion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Work Complexity

Tasks and responsibilities required integration of diverse functional areas and may involve many different variables. Work is substantially complex and varied, and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures in combination.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Licenses/Certifications Required)

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or other related fields.
• Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to listen carefully and work well on a team.
• Have the desire to learn quickly and grow professionally within the field.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products.
• Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within the role.

Physical Requirements

Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and vision. Position frequently requires climbing/balancing and reaching with arms and hands. Position occasionally requires kneeling and crouching and the ability to lift and carry over 20 lbs.
