PROOF. is seeking a Field Engineer to provide Technical Advisory Services, coordinating installation and commissioning for port crane and heavy industrial equipment projects on-site, ensuring schedules and performance criteria are met.

The role entails commissioning and troubleshooting electro-mechanical control systems, developing software/hardware configurations, and liaising with clients to meet contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 2 years' experience with process and automation controls.
• 2 years' field engineering or related industry experience.
• Proven ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally >75%.

On behalf of our client, we're hiring a Field Engineer to provide Technical Advisory Services (TAS) coordinating installation and commissioning activities for port crane and industrial equipment projects, meeting project schedules and performance criteria.

About Our Client

Our client manufactures AC and DC drive systems, control software, and industrial automation solutions, with a dedicated field engineering practice supporting the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of port crane and other heavy industrial machinery for clients worldwide.

In return for you hard work, we will be looking to offer a salary of circa $100,000 - $120,000 + 7 weeks PTO.

About the Role

This role commissions and troubleshoots complex electro-mechanical control systems on-site, primarily for port crane systems, working closely with clients to ensure equipment meets contractual and performance requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Commission AC and DC drive systems and/or control software to meet design performance criteria
• Perform tune-up of closed-loop regulators to ensure optimal equipment performance and meet design parameters
• Develop, verify, and implement algorithms that define the electro-mechanical operation of industrial/port machinery, primarily port crane systems
• Troubleshoot and correct process application problems in complex control systems
• Design, configure, and test system software and hardware to meet contractual requirements when assigned
• Gather pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements within scope of work
• Provide regular, accurate commissioning status reports to relevant stakeholders
• Lead the relevant process component of client witness system acceptance tests when assigned
• Recommend changes to commissioning procedures and software/hardware improvements to engineering
• Maintain current safety qualifications and adhere to both company and client safety requirements
• Coach colleagues in areas of technical expertise as a subject matter expert
• Train client personnel on system maintenance and operation to ensure optimum performance and minimum downtime
• Plan and execute special projects up to 9 months in duration to support the department when assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering
• 2 years' experience with process and automation controls
• 2 years' field engineering experience, or 2 years' experience in the metals, port solutions, paper, or general industries
• Demonstrated success building strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
• Strong personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Access
• Ability to climb and work on cranes at heights up to approximately 175 feet
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally more than 75% of the time

Preferred:

• 3+ years' experience servicing a wide range of port equipment, including overhead traveling cranes and components
• Demonstrated ability to install, inspect, and maintain lifting equipment per relevant operating/installation instructions
• Experience working with international clients and field service, including international field engineering assignments
• Experience in the metals, port solutions, paper, or general industries
