Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Field Engineer - New Grad 2027 to start a long‑term career in construction through training, mentorship and challenging project experiences.

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self‑perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
  • Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
  • Proven track record to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
  • Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.

Responsibilities

  • Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, promoting health and safety practices.
  • Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
  • Maintains project docs and supports engineers to lead trade contractors (RFIs, shop drawings, changes, billings).
  • Supervises self‑perform scopes; resolves crew sizes and labor tracking for LCRs.
  • Mentors field engineers and students/interns.
  • Identifies on-site issues within work scopes.
  • Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
  • Crafts and supervises quality plan and ITP.
  • Builds positive relationships with partners.

Responsibilities
  • Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
  • Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
  • Participates in the supervision of self‑perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
  • Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns.
  • Identifies issues on‑site or in defined work scopes.
  • Coordinates third‑party inspections and site reviews.
  • Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.

The estimated salary range for this role is $82,000 to $86,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
