Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors.
• Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and develop partner relationships.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead inspections and orientations, identify hazards and corrections, and promote health and safety practices.
• Coordinate with the superintendent on workforce planning.
• Maintain project document control and assist project engineers and superintendents with RFIs and submittals.
• Support supervision of self-perform scopes, including labor tracking and cost reporting.
• Mentor field engineers and interns.
• Identify onsite issues and coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Contribute to the quality plan, ITP, and continuous improvement.
• Develop positive relationships with project partners.

Here's how a Field Engineer - New Grad 2027 for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within Seattle contributes to our team:

• Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
• Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
• Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
• Participates in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
• Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns).
• Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
• Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
• Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
• Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.

The estimated salary range for this role is $82,000 to $86,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
